Gas prices in Southern California rose at a faster pace last week, gaining more than a penny a day in many areas, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California . The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $2. Prices, however, are still close to the national average and below the year-ago price, according to Auto Club spokesperson Carol Thorp.
