Increase Gas Mileage - A New Approach

You’ve just fueled up your car, you are on your way to work and you are lamenting the outrageous price you just paid at the pump. “What am I going to do to increase my mileage?” you ask.

Darn! The all the traffic is stopped - just what I needed - I’m gonna be late too!

Now take a breath and focus. You DID want to increase your gas mileage, right? Now reach for your ingition key and turn off the motor.

Remember, a car stuck in traffic and idling gets zero miles per gallon. If you think about it, you are getting negative miles per gallon.

Turning off your motor when you will be stopped for more than 30 seconds makes good sense and does not harm your car. Do this when you are commuting, waiting at the drive-in or stuck in traffic this summer on the way to the beach.
