Kitchen Composter on the Cheap
My bride came into my office waving a “Green Catalog”. Next request was that “we must have a kitchen composter – Why this one even has an activated carbon filter and it is ONLY $185″
Call it cheap or practical. or maybe even having a minifarm in my past.
I yelled “stop!”. You will have the prototype of the FFT (my company) Vertical Composter.
Whoa she said; instant product development?
Yep. I went out to the garage and returned with a 5 gallon pail and lid and a 3 foot length of wood lathe. Actual cost to me zero. Others may have to buy a bucket – get an orange Home Depot variety.
Instructions: Place bucket outside kitchen door. Toss in compostable materials. Replace lid. Once a week stir with stick.
Dip into your office shredder and add some junk mail to add carbon to help offset the nitrogen in the food scraps. In few weeks dump contents in garden or flower beds. Never buy garden soil again.
