The proposed Keystone Pipeline would travel through eastern North Dakota but it will also affect North Dakota’s oil industry. In the last two years North Dakota has lost 16 million dollars in revenue because of oil pipeline constraints. Keystone spokesperson, Jeff Rauh, says pipeline capacity is limited because the price of crude oil has caused an increase in production in North Dakota and in Canada . So while North Dakota oil won’t go on the Keystone Pipeline other Canadian oil will freeing up other pipeline space. Rauh says four million dollars will be spent in North Dakota during the construction of the pipeline. The Keystone pipeline is meant to carry crude oil from Alberta to points in Illinois and Oklahoma. read more
