A Not-for-profit organization, 'Vision 2020' is targeting 30, 000 Nigerian science-oriented youths for the oil and gas industry by 2020. Speaking at a one-week summer retreat, tagged, 'Empowering Youths', held in Lagos, recently, the Project Coordinator, Miss Oreoluwa Shomolu, said a total of 7, 730 students of senior secondary schools, polytechnics and universities have being reached so far. Thirty youths participated in the Lagos retreat, compared to the lower numbers in seminars that took place at Port Harcourt, Abuja, and last year in Lagos. The Topic 'Youth For Empowerment' is our target, and it's all about recruiting youths into the oil and gas industry, Shomolu said. He welcomed the idea of empowering young Nigerian youths to become good engineers in the oil and gas industry.
