Time’s running short this morning, so I’ll jam two somewhat related energy stories - new sources getting started via gov’t subsidies - in one post. First up , the NYTimes business section has a thoughtful, long package on the US government’s big, recent boosts for biofuels. Too much ambition and wishful thinking, too little proven technology, could be at play - with not only money, but food production in question. Off the state’s northern shore are to be built some turbines powered by bobbing floats hooked to a pulley system - two megawatts worth.
