What’s happening in diesel prices?

Yesterday the 22nd as I drove down the Maine Turnpike; I saw the posted diesel prices at $2.99.

We’ve watched the crude futures drop below $70 and gotten news items about the falling prices of fuel. So one would think that no one told the local stations here. OR is it possible that the ‘real’ price of diesel is the $2.99 we saw yesterday and that the lower gas prices we see are only ‘temporary’. Labor Day is two weeks away - lets see what happens. I feel we will see a spike in unleaded to bring it to parity with diesel.
